Teams
The Plymouth junior hockey league caters for league competition within the following age groups:-
- U9 Mixed - Players up to and including Year 4.
- 5 players a-side. Play and teach. - U10 Mixed - Boys & girls from Years 3, 4 & 5.
- 7 players a-side. Competitive. - U12 Mixed - Boys & girls in Years 6 & 7.
- 7 players a-side. - U12 Boys - Boys & girls in Years 6 & 7.
- 7 players a-side. - "Badgers" U16 Boys - Boys in Years 8 & 9.
- 11 players a-side. - "Badgers" U16 Girls - Girls in Years 8 & 9.
- 11 players a-side.
The number of teams fielded by the club depends on membership. All members who regularly attend training are eligible to play. The following leagues are available in Plymouth and Devon:
Plymouth Leagues. Plymouth League games are played on a Friday evening between 6pm & 9pm; the younger teams play in the earlier sessions. Currently, Plymouth League games are played at Marjon, Derriford and Lipson Community College. U10 & U12 teams play 2 games each of 24 minutes. U16 teams play one game of 40 minutes.
Devon Leagues. The Devon league plays on 4 Sundays; 2 either side of Christmas. 2 games will be played in the Plymouth area and 2 in the Exeter area. The club does not currently enter the Devon league. However, the option to do so remains open.
